Gender-Sensitive Indicators for Media to be tested in Albania

Within the framework of the Government of Albania – United Nations Programme of Cooperation 2012-2016 and with the support of the Embassy of Sweden in Tirana, the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe, Venice (Italy), is convening a journalists’ training on “Gender and Media” from 7 to 8 December 2012 in Tirana. Albanian journalists will be invited to apply the Gender-Sensitive Indicators for Media (GSIM) so to become better informed when dealing with gender issues in the media sphere. These indicators are designed to assist people working in the media to assess progress on gender equality, identify challenges, and contribute to local, regional and global debates leading to the formulation of concrete policies to promote gender equality and the advancement of women worldwide.
